I received a challenge: create a cover for a book about magic and witches. I love that theme, so I jumped right into it!
My desire was to bring magic to the cover itself. And it came to me: I wanna make the cover animated. I have some animation background and this fits my idea!
So, the concept was to use the anaglyph technique, but, as mantioned, make it animated. In order for that to work, of course, one has to wear those glasses with red and blue lenses, or a filter, which could be the bookmark.
I knew I wanted my character to be other ethnicity then white and that she would be reading a book (I chose "Matilda so I could play with the cover of that book as well).
I started to sketch some ideas, but I wasn't quite happy yet.
So I found this picture and decided to use it as a reference.
Creating this project was so much fun :)
